Chris Baker is a senior public safety advisor for the First Responder Network Authority. Baker served over 30 years as a first responder, retiring as a career battalion chief/paramedic and lead investigator with the Roseville, CA, Fire Department, and with assignments including operations, investigations, administration, technology, homeland security, and safety. He’s also led public safety technology projects and held operational and communications roles on large incidents and with incident management teams. He has worked as a licensed engineer prior to and during his public safety career designing and operating radio and public safety technology systems in the public and private sectors. Baker holds a bachelor of science in electrical and electronic engineering, a Juris Doctor, and is a registered professional engineer and member of the State Bar in California. He is still active in the fire service as a training chief and paramedic in Plumas County, CA, and as a fire technology instructor at Yuba Community College. Some of Baker's recent wildland fire deployments as task force leader, safety officer, and division supervisor include the Camp Fire, Kincaid Fire, August Complex, North Complex, Gold Complex, and Dixie Fire.
