Chad Beam serves as an Assistant Chief of State Fire, overseeing the Emergency Response Division, which includes all Urban Search ad Rescue (US&R) teams, SC-HART, and firefighter mobilization. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Chad began as a Firefighter/EMT in 2005, advancing through leadership roles such as Field Training Officer, Rescue Technician, and Deputy Director.
He holds a Bachelor's in Emergency Services Management from Anderson University and a Master's in Public Administration from Clemson University, along with multiple leadership program completions. Chad is dedicated to enhancing disaster response capabilities, firefighter training, and emergency preparedness across South Carolina.
A committed leader in the fire service, Chad works to strengthen multi-agency coordination and rescue operations statewide. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Brooke, and their daughters, Carleigh and Ellie Reames.
